PSSSB Eligibility Criteria 2026 (Educational Qualification)
Every post needs a specific degree or diploma, plus Punjabi passed at Matriculation (10th) level.

Punjabi language: Under Rule 17 of the Punjab Civil Services Rules, 1994, candidates must have passed Matriculation with Punjabi as a compulsory or elective subject, or an equivalent Punjabi exam.
Cut-off date: All qualifications must be complete by the last date of application, 22 October 2026.

Age is counted as on 01 January 2026; the minimum is 18 years for all categories.

PSSSB Salary 2026
All five posts start at Rs. 35,400 per month (Pay Level-6, 7th Central Pay Commission). For the Legal Assistant post in the Punjab Water Supply & Sewerage Board, the notice gives the full scale as Rs. 35,400–112,400.
Pay and allowances follow the Punjab Finance Department letters No. 7/204/2012-4FP1/66-72 (15.01.2015) and No. 07/204/2015-4FP1/853793 (04.10.2016), along with later instructions.

The fee is paid online only and is non-refundable. No fee waiver is given, and a failed transaction means the application is not treated as submitted.
PSSSB Selection Process 2026
Selection is based only on marks in one objective written exam, followed by document verification.
- Written exam (MCQ): Each question carries 1 mark, and ¼ mark is deducted for every wrong answer.
- Merit list: Prepared from written exam marks, category-wise.
- Counselling / document verification: Shortlisted candidates bring original certificates and attested copies.
- Recommendation: Eligible candidates are recommended to the department according to the number of posts at that time.
Tie-breaking rule: If marks are equal, the older candidate ranks higher. If age is also equal, the higher percentage in the required qualification wins, and finally the higher Matriculation marks.
For Legal Assistant posts, candidates will be asked for their department preference later. The syllabus and roll numbers will be posted on the SSSB website.
How to Apply for PSSSB Recruitment 2026
Apply online at sssb.punjab.gov.in between 01 and 22 October 2026; no other mode is accepted.
- Open the SSSB website and click Apply Online.
- New users click Registration and fill in their details. Your email ID becomes your User ID.
- Log in with your email ID and password.
- Fill in personal and educational details carefully, including the correct category code.
- Upload a passport-size photo (or capture a live photo) and a scanned signature, then click Save Draft or Next.
- Click Attach Annexure and upload your 10th certificate, qualification certificates and other required documents in PDF format. Click Save Documents.
- Click Make Payment and pay the fee online.
- Click Submit and print the completed application form.
A saved draft can be reopened from Menu > View Status of Application > View Incomplete Application. After submission, no corrections are allowed.
