Bengaluru Rural District Court Recruitment 2026 for 86 Peon, Process Server, Typist & Typist-Copyist Posts

The Principal District and Sessions Court, Bengaluru Rural, has announced 86 vacancies across four posts: Peon (36), Process Server (24), Typist-Copyist (18) and Typist (8). Online applications open on 7 October 2026 and close at 11:59 PM on 6 November 2026.

This is one of the larger court recruitment drives in Karnataka this year. There is no written exam for any post: shortlisting is based on qualifying-exam marks, followed by an interview (and a typing skill test for the typist posts).

The four notifications (ADM/133/2026 to ADM/136/2026) were issued on 30 September 2026. Below, we break down vacancies, salary, eligibility, fees, the selection process and the exact steps to apply.

Selection process

No written exam is held for any of these posts. The process differs between the SSLC-level and the typing posts.

Peon and Process Server

  1. A merit list is drawn up from the percentage of total marks in SSLC (or equivalent).
  2. Candidates are called for interview, category-wise: 1:10 for Peon and 1:25 for Process Server.
  3. The interview carries 10 marks, and the final selection list is prepared on the basis of interview marks.
  4. If marks tie, the older candidate is ranked higher.

Typist and Typist-Copyist

  1. Skill test: a 15-minute dictation in Kannada and in English, typed on a computer with typewriter-style keyboard software.
  2. Each language test carries 100 marks; a minimum of 50 in each is needed to pass.
  3. Candidates are shortlisted at 1:5 per post, based on qualifying-exam percentage plus skill-test marks.
  4. The interview carries marks equal to 5% of the skill test’s maximum.
  5. The final list is based on qualifying-exam percentage + skill-test percentage + interview marks.

During probation, Typist and Typist-Copyist appointees must also pass the departmental exams, the Kannada language exam and the computer literacy test.

  • Details are final: date of birth, qualification and reservation entered in the form cannot be changed later.
  • Diploma marks: typist-post candidates with a Diploma in Commercial Practice should enter the correct year/semester marks.
  • Don’t wait for a letter: admit cards and interview schedules are only published on the website; nothing is posted to you.
